Quality of life (QoL) is a crucial predictor of mortality risk in esophageal cancer patients. A meta-analysis of seven studies reveals that global QoL (HR 1.02) and all subscales (physical, emotional, role, cognitive, social) are significantly associated with mortality. Notably, pre- and post-treatment global & physical QoL metrics are vital. Regular QoL assessments before and after treatment provide critical insights and can help predict life expectancy, urging a proactive approach to patient care. #EsophagealCancer #QualityOfLife #PatientCare #Surgery #Oncology
